Luella Arlene Andersen Wright passed away December 4, 2017. Luella (Lu) was born June 5, 1935 in Houston, TX to Arthur and Henrietta Andersen.
Luella is predeceased by her parents, and 2 younger siblings. She is survived by her loving and kind ex-husband Harold (Dickie)Wright and 3 children from her 1st marriage, Paul Pecht (wife Robin), Paula Jasso (husband Trinidad), Carolyn Pecht (partner Ileana), her 5 grandchildren Careese Vieregge (husband Karsten), Caleb Pecht (wife Amy), Emilio Jasso, Marisa Jasso, & Kristen Jasso, and her 3 great grandchildren Kaydon Vieregge, Kai Vieregge, & Austin Pecht. She also leaves behind several stepchildren and their families.
Luella grew up in Danevang, Texas, a rural Danish community south of El Campo, TX. She attended grade school in Danevang and high school in El Campo, TX. She was raised, and baptized, as a faithful member of the Lutheran Church. Luella graduated from Texas Lutheran University with an Education degree. While attending college, she also involved herself in extracurricular activities such as a batonist with the marching band, and in music and singing endeavors.
Her career path was quite remarkable. She was a Special Education teacher for many years. She continued her education earning her Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) degree. She pursued basic nursing care part time. Luella was a gifted singer, piano player, and organ player. She volunteered as the organist of her local church, and blessed the congregation numerous times singing solos, duets & trios. She loved and enjoyed music and singing so much that she taught both piano and voice lessons. She has one record album to her credit titled "Luella Sings".
Luella was a kind hearted, loving individual. She was a sweet, considerate and caring Mother, a special person to friends and relatives. She will truly be missed. She was adamant for putting other peoples' needs above her own.
Luella loved her pet poodles! She will be remembered for always having a pet poodle by her side, on her lap, or clutching it close to her chest. (Spoiling it as her "favorite child"!!!) With that in mind, in lieu of flowers, in Luella's honor, memorial gifts may be made to your local Animal Rescue Group or Animal Shelter.
We thank God for her life. We grieve because we will miss her but we celebrate because we know she is walking the Streets of Gold in Heaven, in the presence of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.
No more pain. No more suffering. No more sorrows. No more tears. I am sure she is shouting for joy since being reunited with her mom & dad and other family and friends that went before her! And one of these days, we will see her again!
"When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass:Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death is your victory? Where, O death is your sting?" 1 Cor. 15:54-55.
With her 3 children by her bedside; Luella took her last breath, dying peacefully while listening to the hymn "When the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there!".
A graveside burial service will be conducted on Tuesday December 12th, 2017 at 1 P.M. at the Danevang Lutheran Cemetery, Danevang, TX.
Pastor Wayne Clement from Christ Lutheran Church El Campo, TX officiating.
I love you, Mama.
